It’s a real job, with hands-on experience, a salary and the chance to train while you work. You’re treated just like all the other employees, with a contract of employment and holiday leave.
You can begin an apprenticeship from the age of 16 but there is no upper age limit so you can become an apprentice if you have been working for years and need to learn new skills or are seeking to start a new career! You just need to be working at least 50% of your time in England and not taking part in full-time education. You will get paid and train at the same time!
Apprenticeships are a great way to get your foot in the door and start your dream career. You can even study up to degree level!
