This qualification is nationally recognised and is aimed at learners working in a playwork setting. Settings could be out-of-school clubs and seasonal holiday clubs.
The Level 3 Diploma provides knowledge about the role of the Level 3 Playworker when working with children and young people between the ages of 4 to 16. It prepares learners for roles in management of play environments and as line managers of other staff.
The qualification covers the knowledge and skills needed when working unsupervised and learners will need to demonstrate their managerial skills in the workplace. It is aimed at experienced playworkers who have a wide knowledge and understanding of children and young people and now want to move on to a managerial role.

Qualifications are delivered in the workplace. You will be allocated a personal Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator and will be given access to our on-line study area where you will find all your learning materials. Your Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator will provide you with personal tutorial support and assessment at pre-arranged times. Assessment is through a variety of methods including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence, professional discussions, assignments and project/case studies. All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio of evidence.
This qualification intends to prepare learners for employment in Playwork environments in roles such as Centre Supervisor. Learners can also progress to a Foundation Degree.
