To provide effective front-line, customer focussed administrative support to AfPP’s membership, marketing and events departments. This will entail dealing with members, potential members, stakeholders and other customers working within the healthcare sector. The role will ensure the effective acquisition, servicing and retention of members in line with organisational values, targets and standards. To support the Marketing, Membership and Events leads with the planning, implementation, management and evaluation of all AfPP event activities in line with AfPP’s corporate strategy and department’s operational objectives.
Key Tasks – the most important duties of the job:
· Maintaining and updating member/potential member information on the customer relationship management (CRM) system
· Communicating (written and verbal) fully and effectively with colleagues and meeting customer needs over the telephone, in writing and in person
· Delivering at all times a high quality and responsive service to members and potential members across the full range of member services
· Providing effective member contact and support for regional leads, link members and other key stakeholders such as trustees of the board
· Building relationships with our volunteer networks and medical device companies and promoting effective internal and external communications to ensure successful delivery of events
· Supporting administrative tasks and following appropriate processes throughout AfPP as required
The Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) was established as the National Association of Theatre Nurses, NATN, in 1964.
As a membership organisation and registered charity AfPP works to enhance skills and knowledge within operating departments, associated areas and sterile services departments.
AfPP aims to enhance the quality of care and patient safety in the NHS and the independent sector throughout the UK.
In April 2005 NATN changed its name, structures and systems in recognition of the significant changes that were happening in the healthcare sector and the wider perioperative environment and to accommodate the growing numbers of Operating Department Practitioners and Healthcare Support Workers who were previously not eligible for full membership.
AfPP also works to encourage the exchange of professional information between members and co-operation with other professional bodies.

You will be allocated a Teaching & Learning Co-ordinator (TLC) and will have access to our on- line study area where you will find all your study materials. Your TLC will provide you with personal tutorial support and on-programme assessment at pre-arranged times.
End point assessment by an independent assessment organisation and comprises of three activities – knowledge test, portfolio-based interview and a project presentation.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Business Administrator Standard (Knowledge and Understanding, Skills and Behaviours).
Functional Skills are at level 2 in maths and English, where applicable.
