Hampden House are looking for a motivated Apprentice Commis Chef to assist in delivering a high quality and efficient catering service operating to the highest standards of food safety.

Apprenticeships are delivered in the workplace. You will be allocated a Teaching & Learning Co-ordinator (TLC) and will have access to our on- line study area where you will find all your study materials. Your TLC will provide you with personal tutorial support and on-programme assessment at pre-arranged times.
End point assessment by an independent assessment organisation comprises of four activities – on-demand test, practical observation, culinary challenge and professional discussion.
You will be working towards the Commis Chef Apprenticeship Standard (Knowledge and Understanding, Skills and Behaviours).
Functional Skills are at level 1 or 2 in maths and English.
|Able to follow instructions, i.e. menus, recipes, guidelines, Codes of Practice and adhere to the required personal hygiene standards|
|No previous qualification are required for this role.|
|DBS required before commencing employment|
On completion of this Apprenticeship, the apprentice will be competent to work as: Cook, School Cook or Chef, who could then progress into Catering Supervisor, Chef De Partie or Sous Chef roles. You can progress on to the Chef de Partie Apprenticeship Standard or the Apprenticeship Standard for Senior Chef Production Cooking.
