Broomfield was established in 1964 to provode pre-school education of the very highest standard for young children. We are in fact now teaching the children of some of those first pupils from 1964. Having built up and excellent reputation, we expanded in 1998 to include not only pre-school sessions but also full and half day nursery care for children from 0-5 years for 51 weeks per year. We will be now entering a new chapter and caring for children aged 0-11 years. Our aims and objectives at Broomfield are: – To provide the opportunity for our children to develop in full – mentally, physically and socially. – With the Early Years Foundation Stage as our framework, to encourage self-expression, self-discipline and independence through creative play, arts and crafts, music, speech and communication.

Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Apprenticeships are delivered in the workplace and 20% of your working hours will be dedicated to ‘off the job training’. You will be allocated a Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator (TLC) and will have access to our online study area where you will find all your study materials
  • Your TLC will provide you with personal tutorial support and on-programme assessment at pre-arranged times
  • End point assessment by an independent assessment organisation and comprises of two activities – knowledge test and portfolio-based professional discussion
  • You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard (Knowledge and Understanding, Skills and Behaviours)

You must complete the following approved qualifications mandated in the standard:

  • Pearson Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid. (RQF) or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
  • English and maths Level 2 (if not already achieved)

  • Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) graded C/4 or above are preferable
  • You must already hold a Level 2 qualification in childcare and have work experience in a nursery

  • Successful candidates will have a lot of patience, have a caring approach and be understanding
Future Prospects:
  • Achievement of the Advanced Apprenticeship will enable apprentices to access higher level jobs within the wider childcare sector, e.g. Room Leader, Nursery Supervisor or Nursery Manager
  • There is also opportunity for apprentices to go on to further study at higher levels, particularly working towards Levels 4 and 5 Foundation Degrees in Early Years
