Duties will include:

  • Support the learning process under the direction of the teaching or other staff
  • Know how to interact with children in ways that support the development of their ability to learn and think

  • Be aware of and implement your health and safety responsibilities as an employee
  • To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children placed in the setting
  • To give support to other personnel within the setting
  • To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring organisation policies and procedures are observed at all times

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard

This is an 18 month apprenticeship on a term time only employment contract.

  • Apprenticeships are delivered in the workplace and 20% of your working hours will be dedicated to ‘off the job training’. You will be allocated a Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator (TLC) and will have access to our online study area where you will find all your study materials. Your TLC will provide you with personal tutorial support and on-programme assessment at pre-arranged times
  • End point assessment by an independent assessment organisation and comprises of two activities – a Practical Observation (with a Questions and Answer session) and a Professional Discussion (supported by a Portfolio of Evidence)
  • You will be working towards the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard (Knowledge and Understanding, Skills and Behaviours)

You must complete the following approved qualifications mandated in the standard:

  • English and maths Level 2 (if not already achieved)
