Specification

These qualifications are designed for learners employed in hospitality roles such as receptionists, who need to develop or consolidate their skills. Learners are required to take mandatory units which cover aspects of maintaining a safe, hygienic and secure working environment, working effectively as part of a hospitality team, giving customers a positive impression of themselves and their organisation in a hospitality environment. Learners then have a choice of optional units covering different hospitality areas such as front of house reception, housekeeping or hospitality services. There is a wide range of optional units allowing learners to choose units to meet the needs of their own work role.

Entry Requirements

The Edexcel Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Front of House Reception (QCF) is designed to support all learners aged 16 and above, whilst there are no specific entry requirements, learners are expected to have at least basic literacy and numeracy skills on which the Apprenticeship will build. FW Solutions require initial assessments in Math’s and English to be completed by each learner. This is to assess the level of all applicants.

 

 

 

Method of Assessment

Qualifications are delivered in the workplace. You will be allocated a personal Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator and will be given access to our on-line study area where you will find all your assessment materials. Your Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator will provide you with personal tutorial support and assessment at pre-arranged times. Assessment is through a variety of methods including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence, professional discussions, assignments and project/case studies. All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio.

Progression Routes

These qualifications offer various opportunities for progression to further learning. Learners may progress to the Edexcel Level 3 NVQ Diplomas in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership and Professional Cookery. Alternatively, learners may progress to the Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Hospitality.
