We offer a wide range of vocational training courses including Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships, NVQ, BTEC and Functional Skills. Whether you are already working or we find you a placement we will provide you with everything you need to complete your qualification. The courses we offer are based around a combination of mandatory and optional units and your Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator will advise you on your unit choices to fit your job role and career development.
This newly introduced Level 2 framework, issued for teaching in September 2019 allows all successful learners the opportunity to be recognised within childcare ratios. The aim of this qualification is to give learners knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to seven years of age with applied knowledge in the early years, birth–5 years.
This qualification meets the Department for Education (DfE) Level 2 criteria that set out the knowledge, understanding and skills that a practitioner must demonstrate to achieve an Early Years Practitioner (Level 2) qualification and be considered as qualified to support young children aged from birth to five in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
On completion of the qualification, learners can be counted towards the statutory framework for the EYFS staff: child ratio at Level 2.
The Pearson BTEC Level 2 Diploma for Early Years Practitioners is for learners who are employed in, or who are interested in working in, the early years settings in the role of Early Years Practitioner.
The qualification gives learners the opportunity to:
● develop the fundamental technical skills and underpinning knowledge and understanding required to become competent in the job role; for details of the units included in this qualification
● develop appropriate professional attitudes and behaviours that will support personal success in their job role and the long-term success of their organisation
● develop a range of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills to support progression to, and success in, further study and career advancement
● achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification
● demonstrate the behaviours expected of all Early Years Practitioners carrying out their role

This ProQual qualification is aimed at all practitioners working in the childcare workforce at Level 3, such as childminders, nursery practitioners, preschool practitioners, out of school/holiday provision workers. It allows learners the opportunity to develop the required skill levels to undertake a management role and support the high standards of childcare practice within the workplace.

The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Children and Young People’s Services qualification provides candidates with the skills and knowledge needed to manage practice and lead others in children and young people’s services. It is appropriate for those employed as managers of settings or groups of settings, deputy managers and management trainees.
This qualification provides an opportunity to up skill existing Managers and Deputies, enabling them to develop management skills in preparation for taking on new roles and responsibilities that benefit the workplace and the service it provides.
Candidates must complete a minimum of 18 units, comprising:
all of the 12 Mandatory units
a minimum of 6 Optional units, of which a minimum of 4 units must come from Optional Group A
The awarding organisation for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body and the regulatory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).

This qualification is nationally recognised and is aimed at learners working in a playwork setting. Settings could be out-of-school clubs and seasonal holiday clubs.
The Level 3 Diploma provides knowledge about the role of the Level 3 Playworker when working with children and young people between the ages of 4 to 16. It prepares learners for roles in management of play environments and as line managers of other staff.
The qualification covers the knowledge and skills needed when working unsupervised and learners will need to demonstrate their managerial skills in the workplace. It is aimed at experienced playworkers who have a wide knowledge and understanding of children and young people and now want to move on to a managerial role.
