How to find an apprenticeship

If you are thinking of starting an apprenticeship you probably already have an idea of which career path you wish to take. Finding the right apprenticeship to help you start your journey is important and you can research your options on the Find an apprenticeship website.

We have a dedicated apprenticeship vacancy page on our website where you can apply for a live vacancy. Once we have received your application we will give you a telephone call to conduct a short telephone interview and if you are successful we will put you forward to the employer for consideration. If the employer would like to take your application forward you will be invited for a face to face interview.

You can also set up an account on the Find an apprenticeship website to conduct your own search. By setting up an account you will be able to:

– Search and apply for the full range of apprenticeships
– Save your searches and set up notifications to your mobile phone and/or email
– Apply on-line for jobs that interest you

1. Go to the website ‘Find an apprenticeship’ www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship
2. Click on ‘Create an account’
3. Work your way through the on-line form. You will need the following:

i. Name
ii. Date of birth
iii. Address (including postcode)
iv. Email address
v. Telephone number

4. Activate your account by visiting your email account via a new tab and clicking on the message from nationalhelpdesk@findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk called Find an apprenticeship – Activation code

5. Make a note of your 6-character code and return to the Activation page of ‘Find an apprenticeship’, alternatively go to: https://www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk/signin

6. Log in to ‘Find an apprenticeship’. You’ll have the option to complete the ‘Tell us more about you’ page – this helps the service to run effectively.

7. Make a note of your password and keep it somewhere safe so that you can find it easily.
