During the first lockdown the country saw the landscape of learning change dramatically. This opened up a window of opportunity to having shared sessions on topics relevant to all Early Years learners. These topics are linked to themes within our qualifications, designed to dive deeper into the subject and further embed learners understanding such as making links between characteristics of effective learning and enabling environments and supporting children’s life-long learning, or understanding how the British Values support Prevent Duty.
The sessions are delivered using the Zoom platform, with learners engaging and interacting using the chat function. This enables us to keep the flow of the session whilst responding to questions and comments with a large group of learners. This works really well, with learners sharing ideas and experiences from their settings as well as asking questions to support understanding. We have seen a gradual increase in participants with 21 individual learners and a full staff team joining our recent session on SEND! We have many learners who have joined each of our monthly sessions, finding them informative and relevant to their learning and development.
