Pre-lockdown it is fair to say that the world was a very different place. Going out and speaking to students across North and West Yorkshire at careers events was a regular feature in our calendar. This time last year we would not have blinked about the thought of 100+ people in a hall. How things can change!
Schools are staying open during the second lockdown but most access restrictions are remaining in place. We have therefore created a virtual presentation we can send to schools to show to students during their own timetable or we are happy to do this over Zoom and include a Q & A session at the end. This will help us maintain a personal connection with potential learners and keeps schools in the loop with apprenticeship information.
Although the face to face element is on hold for now there are several benefits we can draw from delivering a virtual presentation. Rather than students walking around a school hall with their friends, collecting the odd free pen and bag of sweets they will be sitting down in front of an engaging presentation in more of a ‘lesson style’ with no added distractions. They are sure to come away more informed about their options regarding further education and work-based learning.
We would love to hear from you if you would like us to speak to your students about the world of apprenticeships and how they could be of benefit to them. Please send all emails to firstname.lastname@example.org and a member of our team will be in touch with you as soon as we can.
